Britannia Civil Reserve CIC
Mission: Strengthening Britain's resilience through service and support.
Britannia Civil Reserve CIC is a Community Interest Company dedicated to enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the UK's Former Personnel of the Armed Forces, police, fire and rescue, prison, border force, and other emergency services— especially during crises, periods of exceptional demand, or heightened public safety concerns.
We draw on the skills, discipline, and experience of former service personnel, veterans, and retired emergency workers to maintain a professionally vetted pool of trained auxiliary support personnel. These volunteers deploy only at the formal written request of, and under the full direction and control of, statutory authorities. In doing so, we help maintain public safety, fill critical short-term gaps, and ensure continuity of essential services when they are needed most.
As a CIC, every activity we undertake is designed first and foremost to deliver public benefit across the United Kingdom-advance citizenship, community development, and safety.
Our Services
1. Auxiliary Operational Support for Statutory Responders
We provide a professionally trained and fully vetted reserve of auxiliary personnel, drawn primarily from former members of HM Armed Forces, police, prison service, fire & rescue, and other emergency services.
Upon formal written request from authorised statutory bodies (Chief Constables, Prison Governors, Border Force Directors, and equivalents), we deploy experienced teams to support frontline operations during acute demand, staffing crises, or civil emergencies.
Support includes:
• Safe control and staffing in prisons
• Lawful border security assistance
• High-visibility mobile reserves and reassurance patrols at transport hubs and key routes
This ensures critical public services remain resilient without compromising safety or legal standards.
2. Public & Private Event Security & Reassurance
We deliver high-visibility stewarding, mobile reserve teams, and professional security support for both public and private events.
Whether supporting major festivals, sporting events, transport hubs, community celebrations, corporate functions, weddings, or high-profile venues, our teams provide a calm, disciplined presence that deters anti-social behaviour, prevents escalation, and reassures the public and attendees alike. All deployments operate under the direction and control of the relevant authorities or event organisers and are fully compliant with existing legislation.
3. Training, Advice & Best-Practice Consultancy
We offer expert training, professional guidance, and consultancy to statutory authorities, Category 1 & 2 responders,
and other organisations in:
• Emergency response and civil contingencies
• Public order management
• Community resilience planning
We also deliver ongoing specialist training to our own auxiliary personnel, ensuring they remain current and operationally effective.
4. Veteran & Former Emergency Services Support
We create sustainable employment pathways, skills development, and post-service reintegration opportunities for veterans and former emergency services personnel. By placing their hard-earned experience into meaningful auxiliary roles, we support their successful transition to civilian life while simultaneously strengthening the nation's resilience.
Guided by the Armed Forces Covenant
Our work is underpinned by the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant:
1. No disadvantage - Those who serve or have served) in the Armed Forces, whether
should face no disadvantage compared to other citizens in the provision of public and commercial services.
2. Special consideration — Appropriate in certain cases, especially for those who have given most, such as the injured (physically or mentally) and the bereaved.
These principles are rooted in a Code of Ethical Conduct based on three core values: Respect • Competence • Integrity.
